When I noticed Pro Football Reference started keeping records of NFL lines, I made a mental note of it. At some point I lost that note and forgot about it.

Last night, as I hopelessly watched the Bucs attempt to come back - their failure dropped my record to 2-3 for the second consecutive week - I did some introspection about how I can improve for the rest of the season. I remembered this data trove, scraped the site, and built a file of historic lines to use in analysis.

My data set only goes back to 2014 because @Zempf informed me another site has the earlier data:

If you want the current data you can download it here. Go here to learn how the scraper works. And the jupyter notebook file is here if you'd like to use it. Hope this is helpful. Best of luck this season!
