How to Take Smart Notes: One Simple Technique to Boost Writing, Learning and Thinking – for Students, Academics and Nonfiction Book Writers by Sönke Ahrens
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This book argues for a system of note taking that makes writing a possibility today. It shows how the current gospel of writing leads to writer's block and how this new system eliminates it. There is a lot of science and logic backing up the arguments, and even shows by example - this book was written using the recommended system and you can tell. I hope to introduce this style of thinking and recording into my life and writing.
I only gave this book 4 stars instead of 5 because the organization is a bit circular which makes the read a bit repetitive. The author said this is the only way to hammer in the value of the system and make it comprehensible. I disagree and would trim a lot of pages out of the book.
